Key Highlights from the 196ᵗʰ ESIC Meeting Chaired by Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya in Shimla (27 Jun 2025)

The meeting approved a set of strategic measures focused on expanding coverage, easing compliance, modernising benefits (including AYUSH integration), and enhancing healthcare delivery through public–charity partnerships.

SPREE Relaunch (1 July–31 Dec 2025): A renewed push to register unregistered employers and employees—targeting contractual and temporary staff—building on prior success (88,000+ employers & 1.02 crore employees registered in 2016) .

Amnesty Scheme 2025 (1 Oct 25–30 Sep 26): One-time window to settle disputes, including claims and interest; empowers regional directors to withdraw older or already-resolved cases .

Simplified Damages Framework: Replaces graded penalties with a flat rate—reducing maximum from 25% p.a. to 1% per month—to lower disputes and enhance ease of compliance .

AYUSH Integration: ESIC will now include Ayurveda, Yoga, Unani, Siddha, and Homeopathy services within its healthcare offerings, along with hiring Yoga therapists and Panchakarma technicians.

RGSKY Relaxation: Director General ESIC authorised to accept applications beyond the usual 12-month cutoff on a case-by-case basis .

Charitable Hospital Partnerships Pilot: A new initiative to collaborate with philanthropic hospitals in underserved districts—offering OPD, emergency, and other affordable services to ESIC beneficiaries
